GRI asks for comments on the Public Agency Sector Supplement

Source: Global Reporting Initiative, 12 August 2004

Interest in sustainability reporting by the public sector has been growing rapidly. Agencies on every tier of government have started down the road to better transparency and reporting on their sustainability impacts, just as the general public has started to increase demand for more accountability. An international multi-stakeholder working group has drafted a Sector Supplement to compliment GRI’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines and meet the reporting needs of public agencies.
The Supplement has been released in draft format in order to elicit feedback worldwide from all interested parties. You are invited to read the Supplement and send GRI your detailed comments using the web-based feedback form provided at the links below. Comments are due by 5 November 2004. The working group will reconvene in early November to assess all of the comments received and finalize the Supplement, which is expected to be release as a Pilot version in February 2005.

Your contributions to GRI’s multi-stakeholder process are greatly appreciated, please get involved and send us your thoughts today!
