GRI MEETING SET FOR FEBRUARY 2000 IN BOSTON.

The next GRI working meeting will take place on February 8-9, 2000 in Boston. Objectives of the meeting
are:
To develop a strategy for revision of the Exposure Draft Sustainability Reporting Guidelines based on commentary received

To advance significantly GRI’s sophistication on the social and economic aspects of sustainability and content of the Guidelines

To advance discussion of possible strategies for GRI’s view on verification of reports.

To deepen compatibility between GRI Guidelines and similar or related efforts.

Given the ambitious goals set for this meeting, attendance is very limited and only for invited people.

DISCUSSION PAPER ON OPTIONS FOR PERMANENT GRI INSTITUTION AVAILABLE

A discussion paper, "Establishing the GRI as an Independent Institution", has been drafted by the Steering
Committee and is now available for public comment and further development. The paper may be found at:

GRI’s structure and governance is the subject of intense discussion and development by the Steering Committee as we enter the transitional phase from the present through the end of 2001. The Steering Committee is seeking to consult with as many interested parties as possible as options are identified and refined. October 4-6, Delhi and Bombay, India. Broad attendance invited.
November 16-17, Washington, D.C. Public symposium.
