Airport Sustainability Reporting Guidelines open for public review

Source: Global Reporting Initiative, 27 January 2010

The first draft of the Airport Sustainability Reporting Guidelines is now available for public consultation.
This consultation process is an important step towards developing uniform sustainability reporting guidelines, an initiative taken by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). For the past two years, the GRI, supported by NACO (part of DHV Group), worked on developing airport specific performance indicators as part of the GRI sustainability reporting framework. The result is a tool with global guidelines on which to base sustainability reporting. The guidelines act as guidance to airports for reporting environmental impacts. Furthermore, adherence to the same reporting framework allows for comparison between airports and their sustainability performance.
