In collaboration with the World Economic Forums Logistics and Transportation Corporate Citizenship Initiative, GRI began work to develop a Sector Supplement for this industry this month. The sector supplement will aim to help companies engaged in activities spanning shipping, air, road and rail transportation as well as postal services, freight, express and logistics activities better apply the GRI Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
Work is underway to form a multi-stakeholder working group comprising 18 individuals from different geographies and stakeholder constituencies that will meet three times between August 2004 and April 2005. A draft for public comment is expected in May 2005. More information on this project will be available shortly on GRI’s website.
