The Sustainability Reporting Performance of the CAC 40

The sustainability reporting performance of the CAC 40 examines the extent and quality of carbon and sustainability measurement, reporting and reduction by France’s 40 largest companies using publicly available information.

Companies were scored against criteria in four broad scoring sections all of which are key to a successful sustainability strategy:

  • Measurement and Reporting
  • Strategy and Governance
  • Targets and Reduction
  • Engagement and Innovation

Using scoring criteria developed by EcoAct Group Company, Carbon Clear, we discovered the CAC 40’s best performers in sustainability reporting, acknowledging industry leaders and ranking their success on our sustainability leader board.

Conclusions:

37 companies report Scope 3 emissions

 100% acknowledge climate change as a business risk

13 companies offsetting their emissions

33 companies set a carbon reduction target
14 have committed to setting science based targets
27 companies align their sustainability efforts to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
